Analouge Prototype Week 2

In this week we see about the game mechanics and game rules of our board game.

A group of Humans stumble upon a portal and now have to find a way to get out of the Portal by going through some obstacles.
There are NPC's waiting there to trap the Humans and turn them into their respective monsters, they are:

1. Vampires - Bites the humans and turns them into fellow Vampires

2. Werewolves - bites the Humans and turns them into fellow Werewolves.

3. Witches - Can turn the Humans into either Vampires or Werewolves (By the majority of the players if they want to team up)

Warning! All of the gif's depecting the monsters are only for showing how the monsters look like and are not present in the finished game.

The only way to get out of the portal / win the game is to be the first HUMAN to enter the portal in the middle.

Players when turned into monsters can kill other players, for example:
1. Vampires can kill Humans by sucking their blood
2. Werewolves can kill Vampires by biting their head off
3. Humans can kill both of them if its the Humans (Players Turn to play)
4. If either of the monster who cant kill Humans land on the same position as the Humans, they can play with a die and decide who gets even number and who gets an odd number if the Humans win they can kill the monster, but if the monster wins the Humans are turned to that monster and are killed and sent to the nearest NPC of their kind and respwan there and losing a turn.

As the goal of the game is to be a Human to enter the portal, players who have turned into monsters can cure themselves and turn into Humans like:
1. Vampires can take Cure Disease Potions.
2. Werewolves can kill the Witches (As the witches have cursed them)

There are chance cards also known as Ascendent Cards(Like in monopoly) where players can have a good card or a bad card like:
1. Players can make other players skip a turn
2. Players can move a couple of steps forward
3. Players can be turned to monsters

When any of the players get killed they get to start at the nearest NPC's of their kind except Humans who start at the nearest Witches and when done so they lose a turn to play

A group of 4-6 players can play this game with a single die ranging from 1-6.

Initial Map Concept

We came up with a square map, having traps in every row and their cure in the next row but this design had some drawbacks such as being to simple, having a box like visual design.

Final Map Design

With the hexagonal shap map design we can look that we can fit in a lot of spaces and,

The above picture shows the trajectory of the player movement in the game

I would like to thank Dr Jarek Francik and Hope Caton for giving this oppertunity to create an analogue prototype as this was my first time creating one and it gave me a lot of insight on how some game companies use these methods to present their ideas.
