Reflection

My overall reflection on the module was that there were many things that I was able to learn and experience. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent completing the module.

Some of the pros of completing this module:

I got to interact with a lot of people and was truly amazed by the creativity of some of the teams that had come up with unique game designs, none of which I found a team to be having the same kind of game design or ideas they were inspired to create such designs.
For an introvert like me interaction between people was the main concern and talking to some of them, they genuinely were very opening and talked with me as if I was a childhood friend.
There were a lot of things that I learnt and tried to implement them in my designs such a level design, narrative design and brainstorming ideas.
What surprised me the most was that the ideas came flowing instantly when talking about desiging of some games even though they were silly and no where did I find it difficult to come up with ideas.
I think I have gained a lot of insight on game environment and how they impact the game as well as creating a good level design.

Some of the cons of completing this module:
There were times where my design lacked creativity in terms of coming up with game mechanics.
There were times where I was sloppy and had no motivation in doing the assignments.
There were times where I didnt actually think about the theme of the game and would either create a complex game design or come up with simple game mechanics which lacked content.
The one thing that I need to work on is to focus on the given criterias and actually do some research to get better insight as well as interacting with the lecturers to gain insight on what needs to be improved in the design.

Now that I have completed this module, it has not only helped me improve my idea and design prospects, but it has also provided me with in-depth information about how game design works and the amount of work that goes into designing a game, even if it is a simple game. I hope I don't forget the advice Jarke and Hope gave me.
